Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing

Research in Education, Technology, and Multiculture requires full transparency regarding the use of artificial intelligence in the manuscript preparation process. Authors must disclose the use of any generative AI tools upon submission. This policy specifically governs the use of AI for text generation and writing assistance, distinct from computational tools used for data processing or analysis during the research.

The application of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies is restricted solely to improving the readability, grammar, and linguistic flow of the manuscript. It is imperative that these technologies are used with strict human supervision. Authors are required to meticulously verify and edit all AI-generated content, as such tools may produce output that is plausible but factually incorrect, incomplete, or biased. The final responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the work rests entirely with the authors.

AI tools and large language models (LLMs) do not meet the criteria for authorship. Therefore, authors must not list any AI technology as an author or co-author. Authorship implies a level of responsibility and intellectual contribution that can only be attributed to humans.

If generative AI tools were utilized during the writing process, a disclosure statement must be included in the manuscript at the initial submission stage. This statement should be positioned immediately prior to the References section.

Template for Declaration:

Heading: Disclosure of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies

Statement: During the writing of this manuscript, the author(s) employed [NAME OF TOOL / SERVICE] to assist with [SPECIFIC PURPOSE, e.g., language refinement/proofreading]. The author(s) have reviewed and edited the content generated by this tool and assume full responsibility for the content of the published article.

This declaration is not required for the use of standard spelling and grammar checking software or reference management tools. If no generative AI was used, no statement is necessary. For comprehensive guidelines, please refer to the Research in Education, Technology, and Multiculture Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy.

To uphold the confidentiality of submitted research and protect authors' proprietary rights, reviewers and editors are prohibited from inputting manuscript data into generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT) during the evaluation process. This restriction is part of our commitment to data privacy as detailed in our editorial policies. We are continuously assessing compliant AI solutions and may update this policy in the future.
